Year 6 News

17th March

In Year 6 Literacy, we have started working on animal poems.  We looked at some images and videos of animals to allow us observe them. This then allowed us to generate lots of powerful vocabulary to use when describing animals. We looked at examples of the poem before writing and then editing our own poems.

In Maths, we have been learning about Statistics. We have interpreted pie charts and line graphs before looking at finding the mean from a set of data. We also spent time looking our assessment papers from last week and looked at errors we made and how to correct them.

This week in school we have had Science week. The children have learnt lots about recycling and the process of recycling. We had a visitor in to tell the children about recycling and the children enjoyed making items using recyclable materials.

Have an enjoyable weekend.
