What an exciting week year 5 have had!
In Literacy, we have been writing persuasive letters to Councillor Evelyn Carpenter as she is the Councillor responsible for Education and School improvement for the borough. We have focussed on the traffic around the school and requested for the Councillor to visit our school to address these issues. The children have found it really interesting being able to research traffic issues to aid in their writing and look forward to her hopefully coming to visit us!
In Maths we have been looking at graphs, how to draw them, how to interpret them and then how to answer questions in relation to them. The children really grasped this well and had a great understanding!
For Science this term we have started looking at properties of materials. This week we looked at different materials and identified the properties we thought they had. In Geography we started to look at words and images what we associate with the United Kingdom and Africa.
On Thursday 5th March this week, we also had World Book Day. The children were able to dress up as their favourite book character for the day and show the school why they loved reading! The costumes we saw were absolutely fantastic and it was great to see everyone so excited to show off their favourite books!
We hope you have a great weekend!
