What a fun week we have had in Year 5 this week.

In Literacy, the children have been planning and writing their own blog about the adventures of our main character 'Michael' from Kensuke's Kingdom. They have researched a variety of different countries and have found some very interesting information about each place.

On Wednesday, Year 5 were very lucky to have a visit from the famous author Dan Freedman. He shared his experiences within writing and football and the children were able to ask him a variety of questions. Not only this, but the children were also all very lucky to receive a copy of his brand new book- all courtesy of the Premier League. The children did the school proud as their questions and behaviour was exemplary.

In Maths, the children have been translating 2D shapes and patterns. They were able to create their own patterns and we were very pleased to see how much effort they put into accurately and efficiently translating these patterns to new coordinates.

We would like to remind everyone that the school will be closed on Monday 25th November 2019 for teacher training.

Have a great long weekend. The Year 5 Team.
