In Year 5 this week, the children have all been working very hard!

In Literacy, they have been writing their newspaper reports about an event from the book 'Holes'.  The children were able to use some fantastic quotes, showing off their skills using both Direct and Reported Speech. It has been impressive seeing how much the children can remember from last year!

This week in Maths, the children have continued learning about shapes, now focussing on 2-Dimensional shapes. They have been looking at the properties of a range of quadrilaterals and have used these to help find the missing sides and angles within different regular and irregular shapes.

All the teachers thoroughly enjoyed seeing the children's performances in History lessons this week. The children went into the hall and performed to another class- they should all be very proud of themselves! We were amazed with how much they could remember from the different time periods!

The children have started to look at their new topic in Science lessons this week. They are learning about Forces and have already shown us what they know and what they would like to find out about the subject! We look forward to exploring these with the children.

We hope everyone has a brilliant weekend.
