Every week at Grafton is usually exciting but this week was even more exciting than normal! On Wednesday afternoon children from Years 5 and 6 had a special assembly, linked to being a Global Citizen and our work with the Premier League. There was great excitement generated as two special guests attended the assembly. The children were thrilled when two premier league players arrived to help them with their work on recycling and the damage plastic waste causes to animals in oceans and seas around the world. The visitors also caused a buzz with the staff, as they were players from local club West Ham, who have many supporters amongst staff and children in the school. A big thank you to Mr Geary, Ross Williams and Andrew Hill who helped facilitate the afternoon.
Linked to our work on reducing waste, on Wednesday Miss Stuleblak led a team of School Ambassadors to take part in the Great Spring Clean! The children were amazing and collected bags and bags of rubbish left on the pavements around the school and also in Valence Park; the event was a great success. On the same day our rugby team took part in a tag rugby event at Barking Rugby Club, coming third. A great achievement. Well done all.
This week our Reception children visited Morrisons as part of their learning, they took along their shopping lists and bought what was needed for their special 'get together' next week.
