Grafton Primary School - Together We Learn, Together We Achieve

This week's Article of the Week is number 29:

Every child’s education must develop their talents and abilities. It should encourage children to respect rights, parents, cultures and the environment.

    Message from Senior Leadership Team

    Dear Parents and Carers

Well done on surviving the hottest week for years! The children have been incredibly good given the tough working conditions so we want to say a big thank you to them! Please make sure your child has a water bottle in school and a sun hat to protect their heads.

As we approach the end of the year, please keep an eye on the calendar either on the website or through the School News app which has all the upcoming events listed. Next Saturday, July 1st, will be the Summer Fete and we look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.

Enjoy the weekend and stay safe,

Grafton Primary School have adopted Local Authority procedures and DO NOT authorise holidays during term time.  Parents will be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice Fine of £60 per parent per child for all holidays taken during the term.  If you need to discuss this, please contact Mrs Chappell for clarification.

    Unpaid School Meals

    Dear Parents/carers,

We have successfully sought judgements (CCJs) against those parents that owe substantial amounts to the school, for unpaid school meals.  This means that the school will no longer be carrying those debts, and will be able to use those funds appropriately.

Also, thank you to those of you that manage your child's account and keep your child's account in credit.

                                                                Grafton Book Bags

If you have any Grafton Book Bags at home that are no longer being used, we would be very grateful if you would bring them in to the school office so that they can be offered to children joining our school.  Many thanks in advance.

    Article of the Week 21

Children have the right to be kept safe and protected if they are adopted or in foster care.

    Message from Senior Leadership Team

    Dear Parents and Carers,

Here we are at the end of another very busy term, the academic year is going by so fast.  The children have all been very busy in school with trips out and performances in school and are looking forward to the Easter holiday.  Our Year Three performance of Alice in Wonderland was exceptional, well done to all the children and staff involved.

We have had an Easter Hat Parade and Easter Raffle in school and today was non uniform and Crazy Hat Day, we will put some photos on the Newsletter after the holiday.

We would like to express our concern regarding the amount of children who are late in the morning every day and also the amount of children not collected on time at the end of the school day.  Starting on the first day back after the school holidays we will be recording reasons why children are late in the morning and late being collected at 3.00 p.m.  We are sure you will understand the disruption caused in classes when children continually arrive late to start the school day.  Thank you for your support and co-operation with this matter.

We hope you all have a safe and restful Easter break and look forward to seeing you all back at school on Monday 24th April at 8. 45 a.m. for our Summer term.

    Mr Nicholson Headteacher
